A Message from Dr. Browne, Superintendent

Friday, July 30, 2021

The theme of this year's Nebraska Department of Education Conference was "Opportunity of a Lifetime." I attended the conference via Zoom, appreciating the fact that I did NOT have to travel the 286 miles to Kearney, and also, that a major outcome of Zooming through a pandemic is that sessions are recorded and available to revisit after the meeting or conference is over. The ability to revisit important information is a fantastic opportunity for learners thanks to digital technology!!

During the conference, I was reminded of a Winston Churchill quote on opportunity: "A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity; an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty."

Our school re-opening plan is in place. I invite you to be optimistic, encourage your kids to be optimistic, and invite you to partner with us in your child's education. I suspect there will be some difficulties this year as we continue to navigate the unknown waters of the pandemic - but if we seek opportunities among the difficulties together, we might experience outcomes beyond our expectations or hopes.

I welcome your questions, concerns, comments, and suggestions so we can continue to build better programs and opportunities for our students together!

Feel free to email or call. My cell# is 609-405-3792.

Let's work together for the best Wildcat Year ever!

Yours in education,

Dr. Evelyn Browne
