STUDENT THREATS

Students frequently come under considerable pressure from school activities and from situations which may occur outside the school setting. All school district personnel must be constantly alert to how students may react to these pressures.

In the event school district personnel hear a student threatening physical harm to either him or her self or to other individuals the employee will report this to the school principal or to the superintendent of schools who shall relate this information to the student's parent or parents and to the student's teacher or teachers. After discussing the situation with a committee consisting of the school principal, teacher, and guidance counselor, a decision shall be made as to any additional action needed at the school level.
