Board of Education Meeting
Saturday, February 10, 2024
Notice of the Saturday, February 10, 2024, Board of Education Winter Retreat was posted at
Harrisburg U.S. Post Office, Banner Capital Bank, Banner County Courthouse, Banner County
School, the school website, and in the Western Nebraska Observer.
Call to Order
President Ron Johnson called the Special Meeting - Retreat of the Banner County School BOE to
order at 8:24 AM and stated that the Nebraska Open Meetings Act was posted on the wall.
Roll Call/Welcome
Present: Megan Allen, Laura Baker, Ronald Johnson, Jake Knaub, and Douglas Olsen.
Also present: Evelyn Browne, Superintendent/BOE Secretary and Principal Troy Holmberg.
Pledge of Allegiance
President Ron Johnson invited members and guests to stand for the Pledge of Allegiance.
Approval of Agenda
Approve agenda for the February 10th , 2024 Banner County Annual Board of Education Retreat.
Passed with a motion by Douglas Olsen and a second by Laura Baker.

Annual Report to Patrons
Dr. Browne presented the "2023-2024 Annual Report" for discussion.
Board of Education Self-Evaluation
Members reviewed and discussed the Board Self-Evaluation document.
School Calendar 2024-2025
Mr. Holmberg presented School Calendar information.
Personnel
Dr. Browne reviewed staffing needs for the upcoming school year.
Update District/Board-Superintendent Goals
The Board reviewed and updated goals for 2024-2025 - which will be on the March 11 regular
board meeting agenda for approval.
Transportation Report
Dr. Browne provided vehicle mileage, condition, and bus route information, as well as future bus
fleet needs.
Meeting Adjourned
Adjourn the meeting at 10:58AM. Passed with a motion by Jake Knaub and a second by Laura
Baker.
