Notice of the Monday, September 11, 2023, Board of Education Budget Hearing and Special Hearing to Set Final Tax Request was posted at Harrisburg U.S. Post Office, Banner Capital Bank, Banner County Courthouse, Banner County School, and in the Western Nebraska Observer.
Call to Order
The Special Hearing on the Budget and Budget Presentation of the Banner County School District Board of Education was called to order at 6:41 PM, in the school cafeteria.
The Nebraska Open Meetings Act was displayed in the cafeteria.
2023-2024 Budget Presentation
Dr. Browne presented details of the 2023-2024 proposed budget, including tax request and levy.
Public Comment on Proposed 2023-2024 Budget
President Johnson invited public comment for the purpose of hearing support, opposition, criticism, suggestions or observations of taxpayers relating to the proposed budget as part of the budget adoption process described in Policy 702.03.
As per legislation, there was no time limit set on the Public Comment period.
There was no public comment.
Motion to close the 2023-2024 Budget Hearing at 6:52 PM. Passed with a motion by Douglas Olsen and a second by Bret Jeffries.

Special Hearing to Set Final Tax Request
President Johnson opened the Special Hearing to Set Final Tax Request at 6:54 PM. He invited public comment for the purpose of hearing support, opposition, criticism, suggestions or observations of taxpayers relating to setting the final tax request.
There was no public comment.
Motion to close the 2023-2024 Special Hearing at 6:58 PM. Passed with a motion by Laura Baker and a second by Bret Jeffries.
