Notice of the Monday, July 10, 2023, Board of Education Regular Meeting was posted at Harrisburg U.S. Post Office, Banner Capital Bank, Banner County Courthouse, Banner County School, and in the Western Nebraska Observer.
Call to Order
The regular July meeting of the Banner County School District Board of Education was called to order at 7:14 PM in the School Cafeteria, 200 School Street, Harrisburg, Nebraska.
The Nebraska Open Meetings Act was posted on the wall.
Roll Call/Welcome
Present: Megan Allen, Laura Baker, Bret Jeffries, Ronald Johnson, Jake Knaub, and Douglas Olsen. Also present: Evelyn Browne, Superintendent/BOE Secretary and Principal Troy Holmberg.
Pledge of Allegiance
President Ron Johnson invited members and guests to stand for the Pledge of Allegiance.
Approval of Agenda
Approve the agenda for the July 10th, 2023 Regular Meeting of the Banner County Board of Education. Passed with a motion by Bret Jeffries and a second by Douglas Olsen.

Personnel
-Need School Nurse and paraprofessional for 2023-2024
-I attended ALICAP Summer Workshop on School Safety July 10
-JAG conducted JAG Specialist interview - position offered to Larry Adams pending background check
Principal
-Mrs. Gifford and Mrs. Boettcher are attending rSchool training on Tuesday, July 11th. Starting this month, families will be able to register for school activities online via rSchool. Information regarding the process will be distributed via Facebook, text, email, and possibly the school webpage. Paper copies of all required documents will be available at the school.
-For the fall sports season, 7-8th numbers would allow for us to have 6th grade girls compete in JH sports but not boys at this time.
-Several staff members participated in a Writers Workshop via Zoom on Friday, July 7th
Board of Education
Back to School Open House will be held on August 15th from 5:30-7:00pm. Douglas Olsen will donate the burgers and grill them! Board members will serve the supper. Dr. Browne will arrange the sides.
All Board members expressed interest in attending the NASB Area Meeting on August 23rd in Gering. Dr. Browne will complete the registration.
