Certified personnel may be granted one day professional leave each year, nonaccumulative, with prior approval of the superintendent of schools. Professional leave may not be taken during the first two weeks or the last two weeks of the school year or used to attempt to secure employment elsewhere. This grant of professional leave shall not include any professional leave assignment which may be specifically requested or directed by the school district
