SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS
The board recognizes the need for substitute teachers. Substitute teachers shall be certificated to teach in Nebraska.
It shall be the responsibility of the building principal to maintain a list of substitute teachers who may be called upon to replace regular contract certificated employees. Individuals whose names do not appear on this list will not be employed as a substitute without specific approval of the superintendent. It shall be the responsibility of the building principal to fill absences with substitute teachers immediately and develop an orientation package for substitute teachers.
Substitute teachers will be paid a per diem rate. The rate of pay for consecutive days of substituting in the same classroom will be the following:

1 – 10 Rate Set Annually by Board of Education
11 – 15 Substitute Rate plus $5.00
16 + 1/183 of the beginning teacher base salary
