INFORMATION RELATING TO DYSLEXIA
The Superintendent in collaboration with the District’s Director of Special Education shall be responsible for ensuring the district collects and records information relating to dyslexia including the number of students who:
- Tested for a specific learning disability in the area of reading, including tests that identify characteristics of dyslexia and the results of such tests;
- Identified as having a reading issue, including dyslexia, in accordance with the assessment administered under the Nebraska Reading Improvement Act as required by Policy 604.14;
- Identified as described in item 2 above who have shown growth on the measure used to identify those reading issues.
By July 1 of each year the district shall provide the required information to the Nebraska State Department of Education in addition to other dyslexia and reading related data as requested.
