STUDENT HONORS AND AWARDS

The school district shall provide a program that establishes honors and awards including, but not
limited to, academic letters, scholarships and good citizenship awards for students to assist them
in setting goals. Students shall be made aware of honors and awards and the action necessary on
the part of the student to achieve them. Students who receive all A's and B's for a specified
reporting period shall be considered as 'Honor Roll' students. Any student receiving an
incomplete or an unsatisfactory grade for the reporting period shall not be placed on the honor
roll.

The valedictorian is the student earning the highest overall cumulative GPA with the salutatorian
having the second highest cumulative GPA. The administration shall set a date when second-
semester grades will be utilized to determine the valedictorian and salutatorian.

To be eligible for either the valedictorian or salutatorian honor, the student must attend Banner
County High School for a minimum of four (4) semesters including both semesters of the senior
year.
