The superintendent of schools is authorized to conduct periodic sales of surplus, worn, or obsolete texts, equipment, and vehicles, with approval of the board of education. All items for sale will be advertised and sold at a fair market value. If items can not be sold, they may be properly disposed. Proceeds from such sales will be deposited in the General Fund, Non-Programmed Revenue Account.
